I need a good source to show the trends of stainless steel prices over the last 5 years.
Does anyone have a handle on this and can you direct me to some hard numbers.
THanks,
GG
Does anyone have a good source for the recent price trends in corrosions materials (hastally and 2205).
I'm looking at the last 5 years and trying to establish a firm basis for some budget increases at my plant.
Thanks,
Gene G.
Can anyone tell me a good source for the price trends of boiler tubes over the last 5 years.
I know there has been increases but I am trying to nail down the amount to help me justify some budget adjustments.
Help would be appreciated.
I have some tank work dealing with 2205 alloy. One of my bidders has proposed a flux core wire welding process.
I am not familiar with flux core in a duplex stainless application. Is this inferior wire feed using a shielding gas? What are the trade-offs if any?
Any input would be appreciated.
Hello all. Need some advice
We have been using 400 and 500 AR type plate in our ductwork for wear resistance due to massive amounts of flyash.
At one point in this ductwork the temperature runs about 700 F and at another part it is about 350 F. What I am wondering is at this temperature...
I have been in similar situations and I simply had a shop fabricate a vessel out of a piece of pipe with some pipe caps. Given the small size and low pressure I did not even require them to stamp it as a pressure vessel...which cut the cost. Having it fabbed in a shop also allowed me to add...
All,
Need some advice. I just visited a shop where we are having some 2205 ductwork fabricated for FGD outlet duct use. I know that termpature and HAZ is important and bead sequence should be watched.
When I got to the shop they used a machine to weld about 70% of the welds. I inquired...
When talking about cogeneration there are two types:
"Bottoming" and "Topping".
Bottoming is where process steam is taken off the back side of the turbine instead of being condensed. Topping is where waste product or waste heat is used to make steam for turbine or other steam need...
There are several companies that offer vibration mitigation productions. The Atlantic Group for one. My understanding is that they essentially jam a piece of plastic or foam or brass, depending on the application and thereby damper the vibration by holding the tube in certain modes.
Temperature?
If you are buying a massively large quantity you can go to Allegheny Ludlum direct and save alot of money. If quantities are closer to earth, you must go to Rolled alloys for AL-6XN. There are other comparable 6 molys such as 254 by other companies that will serves as subs.
Thanks for the input.
metengr. Thanks for the input. I am doing much of what you mention. We use 625 overlay on the boiler furnace walls for wastage. We shield tubes with SS shields and in some areas have to reshield them again in 6 months.
You are right that ducts are a minor issue until...
