Hello all,
Does anyone know why the translator DXF/DWG to NX does not work with 3D entities?
I am trying to translate some DXF/DWG files from AutoCad to NX and I am not able to do it. The dxf parts are 3D parts and I can read it with edrawings but when I try to translate it to NX, I can't get...
Sorry again John, I have tried to download the files from scratch directory but no success. The system says:
"The file you are attempting to download could not be found. Please be sure to specify the full and exact filename. Do not attempt to use wildcards or any other shortcuts as these are...
Define a new expression with the length of the helix (for instance LH=300)
Now define the number of turns like this: n=LH/sqrt((pi()*D)^2+pitch^2) where D is the helix diameter, pitch is the pitch (this is obvious) and LH is the length defined above. That's it.
You can note a subtle difference...
Hi Dan, as far as I know, the part family creation directory by default is the same as the part file creation (Customer Defaults -> Gatwway -> General -> Directories -> Par file directory). The part family directory in the customer defaults is used to search the part family members the system...
My advice is go for NX8.5, there are some commands that catia users miss so much in NX. FYI those commands are:
1- Draft from non planar surface
2- Unite with region selection, a command similar to catia UnionTrim
3- Part Modules. From help: "Part Modules enable designers to divide the features...
To locate the bad faces I select the geometry by faces, I select some faces and regenerate the operation, then I add faces to the geometry and generate again, until I detect the bad faces.
The operation must generate as fast as you can, this way you can locate the bad faces relatively quickly...
Hello,
attached is your part with some modifications. I have extracted all "good" faces and I have created (in red) two surfaces in the "bad" region.
Now, no suspect geometry is found. The problem is in the zone I have created in red colour.
Regards...
Hello kukelyk, the suspect geometry should come with imported geometry.
One method to try to avoid that kind of geometry is File -> Export -> Heal geometry, the new created part maintains the manufacturing operations you have and, sometimes removes the suspect geometry, try it.

Frank.
Have you tried with "Initial Move" and "First Move" events. When I want to output some code regardless if there is a tool change or not, I don't use the change tool event, I put the change tool code into the initial and first move events and that's it.

Frank.
I'm using NX Nastran and SOL106. I have made a non linear analysis, and I have problems with the convergence of the solution.
In the convergence criteria menu there are three possibilities, displacement, load and work, by default load and work are checked by the software.
If I check displacement...
If one of this templates is for modeling purposes, you can copy them into UGII\templates with the name
model-plain-1-mm-template.prt (in metric) or model-plain-1-inch-template.prt (in english). This template is used when creating a new part with the Model template.
