Then I end up with LONG-short-LONG-short-LONG-short-LONG. I just want a slightly more stretched out LONG-short-LONG.

How do you get centerlines on a SolidWorks drawing to simply have a LONG-short-LONG piece, and that's it!?? (not keep repeating).
Is there any easy way to get them to look right? Thanks.

Answer: Because Dassault Systèmes doesn't want to have a product like AutoCAD where companies are still running AutoCAD 98' in production and not paying annual subscription fees [tongue]

We have a situation where we would like to create a drawing in milliradians. Milliradians are a simple calculation of inverse tangent of rise over run where rise is the actual linear dimension, run is a constant we already have, and then multiply the whole thing by 1000 to get the “milli” part...
Interesting, CorBlimeyLimey; Same for Updraft.
We were printing various font sizes between both MSWord and SWX. We were printing straight from .docx and .slddrw.
I will look into trying both ideas (A) PDF and (B) single line font and get back here.

I should have been more clear:
Here's a picture showing how clear the number is when printed from MS Word, versus a SolidWorks 2012 drawing.
The Manufacturing Engineer that I'm working with should be signing up and posting the make and model of laser.

Does anyone have experience lasing (or "lasering") parts with a part number straight out of a solidworks drawing?
We have found in our first day that we are getting better results just doing it straight out of Microsoft Word. [In SolidWorks > Document Properties & Print Options] We reduced...
Guys,
I'm suffering memory loss and need some help and possibly a reference [standard] to verify but I've always known "closed" dimensioning to be wrong.
This is where you have:
|<----- 1 ----->|<--------- 2 --------->|
as opposed to this:
|<-----------------3 ------------------>|
|<----- 1...
Guys,
I'm messing around with SolidWorks trying to recreate a digital data set from the Drawing Requirements Manual, specifically the image in Figure 26-1, which I would post but I'm not sure that's legal. It doesn't matter because all you have to do is picture a simple part with geometry...

Jeff,
That story sounds plausible and based on all this user feedback sounds the most likely.

So, going once – going twice… the collective answer is that the race track can’t be found in a major, recognized drafting standard like Y14?

In SolidWorks and I believe other platforms they have this option to turn a dimension into an inspection dimension (see example below):
The problem is we can't find anything on this in a standard. We specifically follow ASME Y14 and can't find any coverage on this format.
Can anybody shed...
