    Cold Storage Design

Well, Rowengineer, the cold storage will be around 60' x 80'. There is no wearing slab over insulation. It is only a 6" slab over soil. On the humidity, the area is a warehouse that has a 70% RH at least. But normally the area or geographical area the warehouse is very humid. Thanks for the...

    Cold Storage Design

I'm verifiyng if it is possible to install a cold storage room inside an existing warehouse over an existing 6" slab. The room is to operate at 2 C / 35.6 F. The cold room provided says that no demolition of the slab is required but I think there is going to be some heaving or swelling in the...

    Shear Wall-Steel Beam Connection

I'm designing a steel building on which steel braces are used for lateral on one direction and shear walls (elevator and stair shaft)on the other. How do I connect the building to the shear walls core. I have seen it with a steel plate with welded Nelson Studs casted inside the core. After the...

    Cold Formed Steel joist data

I now they are pipes because some of them have a small hole throught and you can see it is a pipe. The thickness of the wall is .125".

    Cold Formed Steel joist data

I'm doing an evaluation of an Prefabricated Metal Building. I'm looking for data on the buildings steel joists. The steel joist's bottom and top chord are not double angles. They are similar to the shape drawn here \__|¯¯|__/ . The web elements are bent pipe sections 3/4" in diameter. Is...

    Reference for "Pipe Rack" analysis/design

For High wind areas use "Wind loads and Anchor Bolt Design for Petrochemical Facilities" from the ASCE. It explains the wind load distributions for pipe rack and platforms.
