melone, That is my understanding also. I guess it depends. If it is the CCA, it is the component body. If you are looking at the PWB, it is the actual connections.

I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about component footprint verses component body size. He said the footprint is the body size, it this true? I always saw them as being different.

Comcokid, Yes it is temporary solder mask. I know the data sheets say no residue. I am trying to find people that may have tried it (real time use).

I am looking to use a water soluble solder mask. Some types of solder masks leave a conductive residue. This can not be tolerated due to the voltages, currents and frequencies. Has anyone used this type of solder mask and had a residue problem? Ed
