$5 (U.S.) per hour is approximately $10K per year, thus $19 per hour is @ $38K per yr. Salaries, in general, are very location dependent. I am seeing salaries between $20 and $30 per hour for experienced (5-10 yrs) engineers in SE MI at this time.
Ah, my mistake then. It's what happens when you drop out of the loop for 18 months. I didn't see the report on the change to the high speed charge depleted mode. The buzz on the news here was no mechanical connection ever, and fit with the information I had April '09.
Practicality, I would...
Unless something has changed in the last couple of years, the Volt was a series hybrid, with the engine coupled to a generator which charged the batteries. There is no mechanical linkage between the wheels and the engine. GM's series/parallel system was in their Yukon/Tahoe/Escalade vehicles...
Yes, it can do all you are asking, plus. I maintained a software package, built in Labview, for control and data acquisition in a couple of dyno test cells. I found it easy and intuitive. It has drivers and libraries for a variety of comm protocols (we used CAN, GPIB, and ModBus+)and, when I...
You could talk to Unique Heated Products in SM Michigan. They supplied the emission lab where I worked. They may have an off the shelf solution. They were also good at custom work.
At the last place I worked for it was generally 5-10s, more if they could convince you. I didn't get convinced a lot, which may have led to my current condition of 0-10's. They asked and I was honest.
If the number of *BEs matched, by percentage, the populations they represent, then set asides would not be needed and could be discontinued. The same rule should apply to all levels of employment and AA. In my experience, they do not.
TrackRat,
Yes, a joke. As far as the Fail WOT, it was thirty years ago that this happened, and my memory isn't what it used to be, but, I was somewhat conversant with control systms and remember thinkng to myself that it was an odd way to work it. Beetles had all sorts of interesting ideas...
To illustrate JSteves point, I had a '72 VW beetle with "drive by wire" problems. The throttle cable slipped out of bracket at the throttle after I accelerated to pass and stuck full open (Interesting default position, in my book). Traffic was heavy, with no shoulder and a long stretch until I...
Thanks for the help.
I was hoping someone here knew someone in this org who could vouch for its authenticity, or lack thereof. Obviously I was mistaken.
