    Soil stiffness, Plate bearing

Hello Everybody We are currently looking into producing a class 3 foundation for use on a major highway,(based on IAN 73) at the moment we are trying to correlate the LWD,FWD And dynamic plate on a stony cohesive clayey silt, before and after modification with cement. So if anyone has any...

    friction angle relationships

Hi Guys and girls Does anyone know if there is a loose correlation for a sand and gravel(structural backfill)by using a hand vane to get a indication of the shearbox angle???, i have to wait two weeks for the result of the shearbox but time is of the essence. or any other ideas????

    Definition of argillaceous rock

Hi Would anybody know if there is any documentation or report that lists a content of argillaceous material in a rock that deems it a argillaceous rock i.e 70%CALP LIMESTONE WITH 30% MUDROCK (ARGILLACEOUS ROCK OR ROCK WITH ARGILLACEOUS MATERIAL) It seems that the statement argillaceous rock is...

    polypropylene fibers in concrete

GINGER I noted that earlier you mentioned that you tested the fibres with and without rebar did you find that with the rebar it was more inclined to increase spalling due to the expasion of the reinforcing under temperature. Also what was the maximum temperature you tested to ie cellulose,carbon...

    polypropylene fibers in concrete

Andy The dosages you refer to are between 1 and 2 kg per metre as i expected but is there a significant difference between say 1 kg or 2 kg in either temperature or time, i am only interested in reinforced concrete, Many Thanks Dominic

    polypropylene fibers in concrete

Does anyone out there know if any research has been done with regard to fire testing on concrete with fibres. Of particular interest is that do the thickness of multifilament fibres ie (18 micron or 32 micron)improve or reduce explosive spalling if anybody knows anything about this please let...

    Modulus of subgrade reaction

Thank you Can this relationship be correlated to other size plates (ie 300mm)i believe th army corps did something about it but here in the uk it is very difficult to get any information about it best regards

    Modulus of subgrade reaction

Could someone please explain exactly what the modulus of subgrade reaction is and how it relates the cbr value at the moment i cannot find any information that correlates one to the other. any help would be much appreciated

    NICET EXAMINATION

the best way would be to decide what tests you wish to carry out as the equipment will be listed in astm/aashto then contact a supplier like humboldt and request a catalogue. From there it should be plain sailing

    Modulus of subgrade reaction

I am looking for core information on the relationship betweeen mosr and the diameter of bearing plates in particular information from the omaha testing laboratory and the U.S corps of engineering as the relationship was posted in soil mechanics for road engineers in the UK but is no longer...
