All the files come in in an unmodified state and have been refiled but the top assembly comes in modified. Even after a save all you close and reopen and it's back to a modified status. I do not know what else to do to correct this.

Yes, John, our files when we were NX5 were all differenct versions, but when they upgraded us to NX6 they did a system re-file to 6.0.5.3. The NC files that always have red paths were files where the master model and associated opposite or the associated waved Manufacturing model were saved out...
It is the top level and we are not using partial loading so everything is loading fully. That was my initial thought was it was looking at everything to solve the mating conditions but I now do not think that is what is going on.

We are having problems with files coming up modified even when nothing in the file has been modified. This looks like it is happening in files with suppressed components. This is causing cut paths in our NC files to go red every time you close and open file. I have tried to reopen and resave...
Well today everything worked as it should I'm thinking some thing was hung up and after exit and resart this morning it seems to be working now. I read the help section and everything I could find online about over ride position constraints yesterday and it just didn't work. And today gave it...
Position over ride is correct. I have them in place when we used mating conditions in NX5. Well we switched to NX6 and they wanted to switch to positioning constraints so we converted mating conditions to constraints. And now I need to move one of the components and have not been able to...
Ok I give up how do you add variable positioning constraints. In NX5 We are now in NX6 I have been trying to add some positioning constraints but am un able to find where it or what menu it is now under and how to get to it. Or is it that I need to grab the advanced assemblies’ license?
Any...
The reason we went to NX6 we were told by our IT dept that 7.5 or 8 would not run on XP sp2 and we wont be going to Windows 7 until next year. I think the plan will be to get NX8 installed after we get Windows 7 installed. We are also in the process of switching to Team Center Unified.

Ok but isn't there a setting some where to turn on ans auto advance to next step? I had my middle mouse button set to set rotation point so I'll have to reset it back to do this.
Thanks!

I have a question how do you turn on the auto advance to next step. We just switched to NX6 but I can not remember how to set it so once you made required pick it advances to next step without having to click the next step in process.
Thanks!

Load the latest driver and run in compatibility xp mode. I was on the tec support with 3dconexian and was given these instructions and it should work fine. We about to switch to Windows 7 and I had heard the space balls would not work any more so I stared looking. I have the complete...

Been there, done that, got the headache. [\i]
EWH,
I hate to say it but that is a all to common practice here. Working on files using part models that...
That is what I suspected. To me it looks like some one wants some one else to do a job that they should be taking care of and be responsible for.
Thanks John!
Ben that is looks like your structure the part is residing with in the fixture assembly.
Thanks Ben!

I was told today that what we are doing is not what most companies are doing when it come to models being used by the NC group. We have always tried to stay with a master model concept. We design a fixture and add the manufacturing part as a component. The the NC group create their NC file and...
