Ductile Iron Pipe - CP Rail ROW

When they added CMP as a casing is when they lost me. That is not as strong as RCP or steel. If it is not under the track it should not be an issue. Find a contractor that has done work for CP Rail and see what they installed. Richard A. Cornelius, P.E. WWW.amlinereast.com

    Salt building construction joint filler

Leak seals in a parking ramp in Minneapolis is where I saw it. When you pour in real hot it soaks into all the little crevices. Works better on a hot July sunshiny day Richard A. Cornelius, P.E. WWW.amlinereast.com

    Distance between pipes

The pipes only have to be far enough apart for the most incompetent repair person, now or in the future. 3 feet should be enough for PVC. Richard A. Cornelius, P.E. WWW.amlinereast.com

When you build a space more that 5 feet high, someone will use it for storage. They will put all the paper files generated in the office up there. File cabinets are very heavy 10 - 20 reams of paper per file drawer, 4 drawers per file, 4-5 square feet per file cabinet. 50 psf would not be a...

    Siphon flow sizing

Cut up a catch basin grate and lay it over the inlet pipe. That should cut the flow. Cheap, simple. Save the other pieces. You may need them. Richard A. Cornelius, P.E. WWW.amlinereast.com

maximum drop depth allowed in the sewage manhole

Are you laying a new pipe? If so, put it in at the flow line of existing manhole. Dropping helps get the H2S to come out of the sewage. This will corrode your manhole. Another thing is that us guys that do or did go into live manholes don't like the "Drop Manhole" idea. Have to take a shower in...
