We're trying to make the move over from AutoCad, and one thing we use a lot is the "Design Center" to drop in blocks, layouts, and layer types. I'm not finding anything that gives me the ability to do that in Draftsight.

Here's a framing package I did for anyone to take a look at. All the equations are in place, just pick the overall size, number of doors, and correct config on the drawing to generate the right BOM. I'm going to set this up on DriveWorksExpress when I get a chance to see how well it works with...
I saw the Moulding thread, but not the other when I was searching. My zip adds the posts but that's all. Thanks for sharing!

I'm trying to set up some weldment part files with them just to see what all I can do. Here's a 2x4 stud wall. I'm going to be adding equations to it so that when I change the overall size and length of the wall the number of studs per section increase/decrease accordingly. I plan on making...
I've been messing around with weldments using lumber profiles, and it makes doing take-offs a cinch when you insert the weldment cut-list into the drawing. I didn't see anywhere else to download them from, so I though I would share them here for anyone to use if they wanted. Hope you enjoy...
Thanks Scott! One would think that if a selection was made to hide a detail view, that the detail circle would also hide. To me it makes no sense to leave it showing if the view it goes with has been hidden.

Just realized that will be very useful to find out the open area of a perforated panel to calculate flow... thanks for asking this question ;-)

I just did a quick test of what you're trying to do, and what I found to work best is to...
do your fill pattern command, start a new drawing, and dump in a hole table. It won't give you a qty for the holes in the hole description column, but the tags will be labled A1 through however many...
I've hidden a detail view for a feature on a drawing, because the feature isn't visible in this particular configuration being laid out in this specific drawing. I've tried everything, but can't seem to hide the detail view circle that draws attention to the location of the feature. I did find...
Here's the part file that goes with the drawing file attached to the above post...

No, they stay black/not dangling. I have the dimension going from an edge of the part to a CL of a routed feature. The CL disappears, but the dim stays black/not dangling.
I've attached an example of a drawing that was created after a form was ran. It's a bit overwelming with all the extra...
At my last job that's all we had was acad for 3D I started on 2004, then we got an upgrade to 2006 or 07. There were a lot more 3D friendly tools in when we upgraded (I wanna say it was '07). I didn't mind it, and I still use '04 on my home computer for drawing houses in 3D. It has it's...
I have a part that I set up to run with DriveWorksXpress. I was hoping I could set up one drawing that had everything (all options) dimensioned. Then when things were suppressed/unsuppressed, according to selections made on the form, the correct dimensions would show up and a few may need to...
That worked, and I also found out that I can go in and modify my database at any time after the initial setup.
