HIC Test (API 5L 44th ED)

Sjones, Can you please elaborate more? Does it mean a certain batch of steel plate made or line pipe. As we know the plate is made first and then plate are used to round into pipe and welded. So this 'heat' means the batch from the plate or pipe. Thanks

    Welding - NACE

Its a new water injection pipeline that the Client are looking at converting it to oil line. From Design point of view, as long as the pressure and temperature is acceptable then it is fine. Not sure from material point of view. This is why the qns is rised.

    Welding - NACE

Hi, Does anyone know about welding to be qualify as NACE? Recently i was told by someone that the old water pipeline my company designed is not suitable to be converted to Oil pipeline as the weld on the water pipeline offshore is not NACE. I have checked in many industrial code and have yet...

two pipeline in the same trench

Sorry for the late reply. Just have time to log on and look at the topic. let me share my thoughts. Anchor block are usually necessary when it come to shore approach as water depth is shallow resulting in huge ENV loads on the pipeline. This will cause in stability to the pipeline. Anchor Block...

    Corrosion Allowance in Splash Zone

This is not the case, only the riser end clamp will be isolated by means of neoprene. Nobody will isolate the brace end at the jacket end. Clamps is always protected by CP from the jacket in most cases; otherwise you will have your clamps, bolts and nuts corroded in no time.

    Corrosion Allowance in Splash Zone

You should worried so much about the corrosion allowance of the clamp as the clamp should be protected with CP system from the jacket. Its the type and thickness of coating on the clamp for the splash zone that you need to consider.
