How to Manage Pipe Support Lift-Off in Stress Analysis

Thanks for your feedback, I agree with you that it’s not economic to use spring support for all lift-off cases, however my point was to not to ignore any lift off support without engineering justification, and the formula you have provided to calculate the distance between the first spring...

How to Manage Pipe Support Lift-Off in Stress Analysis

Hi, I think, considering all responses, the solution is clear now, however I just add a few points perhaps it would be also helpful. As per B31.3, 319.2.3 In evaluating systems where supports may be active in some conditions and not others (e.g., pipes lifting off supports), this difference in...

What type of coupling to use to connect dn 600 schedule 10mm and dn 600 schedule 15 mm di pipe

Hi, No need any coupling if it is a metallic pipe, the higher schedule needs to be tappered to the thiner thickness and welded.

A105 Valves in Low Temp Service - CSA Z662

Hi, It depends on the thickness and the fluid category as it shows on the Fig.323.2.2A page 48 ASME B31.3 , if it its Category D Min.-48 is allowed without impact test for wall thickness less than 10mm.

HI, I need to install a 26" flan

I think you can find such high rating flange in API 6A which is specifically subjected to the wellhead Christmas tree equipments.

    ASMEB31.3 - Buckling

I think the allowable deflection is indicated in the Piping Stress criteria for each project and then you can analyse the pipe with CAESAR software and make sure to not exceed the maximum deflection. This is also applies to pipe support span for vertical lines.
