External HP dat device on WinNT 4.0 reads 'tape is write protected' when trying to archive stuff on a new tape which is not protected.
Has anyone have ideas on how to overcome this?
The dat tape device is not responding (external scsi device on sgi impact). Does anyone have any simple hints on how to reactivate it?

With this system I cant seem to boot up in DOS mode. I'll try registering the file using the regsvr32 command.
