Energy Dissipation in Steep Concrete Flume

Is there a calculation to design energy dissipation blocks in a steep concrete flume running perpendicular to a roadway? The drainage area is roughly 2.5 acres with a 100yr flow rate of +/-12cfs. The concrete flume is 2' wide for 250LF on a 3:1 hill and the velocity will be approaching 20fps...

    CN Adjustment for Infiltration

PSmart and DMcGrath, thanks for the input. I am not sure how to "add the BMP exfiltration depth" in the CN revised equation. Modeling two ponds in series is probably the simplest solution. And may produce the most accurate results. Thanks!

    CN Adjustment for Infiltration

I am looking to adjust a CN to a detention pond based on an offline uphill infiltration BMP. In Georgia, if there is an offline BMP (enhanced swale, bioretention garden, etc.) which infiltrates the "first flush" (1.2" storm) volume, then there is an adjustment factor which can be applied to the...

    Hydroflow with Civil 3D

yes, you can connect 3 ponds in series. just have the outfall hydrograph from one pond routed through your next pond, etc etc. you can model the outfall pipe (Culv/Orifice"A") with a long length or as a reach but be careful not to do both. I would do both scenarios separately and use your best...

    Curve Number (CN) for "Mulch"

I have to show the increase in runoff for timber harvesting a small patch of woods for a client in Atlanta, GA. We are felling the trees and grinding the stumps. We chose not to grub to preserve the integrity of the soil as much as possible, and to not trigger as many erosion control...
