I need to set up an if statement to show when to write a letter to someone 180 days after someone else has died.
e.g. =if(a1=anydate,a1+180days,leave blank)
A1 will have a date in it or nothing
Then you can see the date that the letter has to be done
Can this work or is there a long winded...
I am running a peer-to-peer network of around 20 PC's, but when it comes to backing up the machines I am having to do it manually using Windows Explorer onto 2gb Jazz cartridges, about 4 pc's to a cartridge.
All of the Data to be backed up is kept in a single shared folder on each PC.

I've just cracked it!
In the same screen where you choose wrap text, there is also vertical and horizontal alignment.
I had the cells set to vertically align at the top. If you change it to any other option (centered works best) the row height does automatically resize!

Cactus - I am using wrap text, it's just not resizing the row heights. Like Tigrek, I thought (and have seen) row heights automatically resize without having to use any tools or special formats.
Go on call me lazy...
I have a simple spreadsheet in Excel 2000.
The row descriptions are fairly long (50-150 characters), so i used the wrap text function.
It did move the text onto another line in the cell but the row height did not change. I have to manually resize the row height to be able to see the contents...
