BACKGROUND: I am enhancing a proprietary moldless casting machine that centrifugally casts a near-perfect coating on a curved surface. The degree of perfection inversely depends on the variation in angular velocity. A servo motor drives the unit through a 100-to-1 gear speed reducer.

I am a mechanical engineer working in the ultrasound industry. I am searching for TPX material (Methylpentene Copolymer) because of it's inherent sono-translucence quality (ultrasound passes through with little attenuation). My proposed method of fabrication is by machining rather than injection...
Hello Keith:
We repair equipment and save our customers on the average of 80% compared to buying new. These products are not operational when we recieve them due to a multiplicity of reasons - broken flex circuits is just one failure mode that we currently do not have a process in place to...
Good point Dan.
We validate all of our equipment against known standards. If there was an error in the data due to cross-talk/opens/shorts,etc it would show up in testing. Each one is 100% inspected.
Thank you all for sharing your experience and recommendations. To answer a few questions raised:
- The bend radii is <1/2"
- The medical device is a class II diagnostic instrument
- Yep - .002" spacing between the .002" conductors
- The duty cycle is fairly low in that for each diagnostic...
My client repairs medical devices. We have 16 and 32 conductor flex circuits on a .004" pitch and .005" thick (substrate) that are fatigue-broken. (Replacing the flex circuit is out-of-the-question because the terminations are potted.) I believe someone may have expertise in the repair of broken...
I have seen NEMA dimensional frame size charts. Can someone please link me to an IEC dimensional frame size chart?
Thank you in advance for your kind reply!

I am a Medical Manufacturing Engineer reviewing drawings for manufacturability. I am noticing every stainless steel part calls out "Passivate per ... ". Some parts are simple brackets and shims. Most parts are subject only to indoor cleaning solutions as found in hospitals. There are no...
Our customer is specifying painted parts with a texture F12. I am searching for a standards kit that can be used by Receiving Inspection to verify correct texture has been applied to painted parts. Where is the term "F12" from? Where can standard sample kits be purchased?
Thanks in advance!
I am searching for verbiage that will specify a performance test that receiving inspectors can perform in a non-conspicuous area to check for paint adhesion. Perhaps an "X" cut into the substrate followed by a standard cellophane tape applied and peeled back. May I hear from you if you have...
