    Double Wall Tanks

More like a jacket but could be either to satisfy secondary containment. Apparently this is more common in Europe, not so much in Canada.

    Double Wall Tanks

Thanks MJC I totally agree, its seems so stupid, but our client wants to know the cost delta and I'm struggling to find a vendor that could provide costs. I'm thinking 70 - 80% more. Would this sound about right?

    Double Wall Tanks

Could anyone recommend a tank vendor with experience in double wall API650 tanks (30 to 70m diameter). Project is located in Canada. Thanks in advance.

    B7M Versus B7 Bolting

The former is correct since the latter has been verified a million times over. If you were experienced in flange design you would already know this.

    B7M Versus B7 Bolting

B7M bolts can be used without any analysis on standard flanges. These are intermediate strength per B16.5 Table 1B.

Deficiency Report for Transitions (Appendix 1-8 (b) or (c))

Thanks for clarifying that Tom. But nobody looks at the calcs anymore just the deficiency report!

Deficiency Report for Transitions (Appendix 1-8 (b) or (c))

Good catch Doc. I always wondered why this distance came out so small.

    Vacuum test

There is no Code requirement for vacuum testing, just a design method.

PD Pump to Heat Exchanger, where should Relief valve go?

Piston pumps normally come with integral relief valves. Would this solve your problem?

    Mechanica stress problem

The deflection of a particular section is a function of how the load is acting (uniform, concentrated, etc), the method of end supports (fixed, supported, etc) and the strength of the section under consideration (modulus of elasticity and moment of inertia). For simple beam theory and some...

    Manway size

Seems a little silly to have such a large manway for such a small vessel. What's the reason, large removable internals? There is no Code limit in size but generally 24" would be a refinery standard.

    Equivalent Standard to AS 2129

Definitely not compatible. As I remember AS 2129 was based on the old BS 10 flanges. You should obtain a copy of AS 2129 for pressure/temp ratings. See attached link for AS 2129 dimensions. http://www.tubesalesqld.com.au/flanges.html

Carbon steel fittings material spec question

Read A234 carefully. You need to select a "starting material" from Table 1. This implies to me that A234 is not a material spec as such.

Carbon steel fittings material spec question

Any material that conforms to Table 1 in A234 can be used. I seem to remember in the older editions they used to list acceptable materials and A106-B (for WPB) was one of them.

Internal Painting of a L.P. Vessel

Typically any surface coating inside or outside should exclude gasket contact surfaces.
