As TenPenny said, fluid is still moving from/to the same points.
My job is selecting pumps for different applications and I have done a quick analysis; NPSHr=3.2ft. Small pump with 5HP motor can do it. When you change from submersible to sump pump, imppeller of the sump pump is is still at the...
I am not an expert, just pump applications guy. I come across this term alot. Say I am pumping into a pressurized vessel(50PSI) which is 20ft above where the pump is. back pressure is 50PSI, elevation is 20ft. Discharge pressure has to overcome 20ft elevation, minor losses and 50PSI back pressure.
Sero Pump Systems has some Side Channel pumps that are good for low NPSH, Low S.G, Low flow and High head. These pumps cant handle solids but I understand that is not your concern here. They ar available as mag drives too.
Thought might be worth a try: http://austindenholm.com/id151.htm
Hi all-
Can anyone advise on what the required length of straight pipe before inlet of centrifugal pump is.
Any link where I can look into for quidelines?
Thanks All
hemvig- I recently came across similar application- I was under training at the time and my senior selected plan 74. When I asked why, the answer was that Lean Amine has poor lubricity in which case Plan 74 is a better selection.
I am not giving an advice here-just stating a fact. I am sure...
You might wanna use Specific weight when converting Atmospheric pressure to head, !
pressure in kPa= kN/m2
Sp. Weight= kN/M3
Head= Pressure(abs)/Sp. weight
= kN/m2/kN/m3=M!
Hello All-
I am advised to take the cobra Test Simulations-
Any ideas? Any Reading/ readying materials guide? Web-search was not helpful thats why I am posting it here.
Thanks in advance
Hi all...
I am working on a project to size a pump for for the following application parameters:
Flow=120GPM
Head=120
Temp=120F
Press=atmospheric
here is the interesting thing: The fluid to be pumped is 10%vol. Caustic soda and 15%vol. Bleach. Is Specific Gravity of 1.2 conservatively good...
