Dear mbmech i agree with flexibox, to use dual seal but then u have to go for jacketed type of gland to maintain the temperature above 100 deg C. or else the inboard spring loaded face will hang up siddik

No the seal will not allow the air to enter unless there is proper cooling for seal faces & seal is properly design to handle vaccum conditions, as self balanced seals do siddik

hi gedeos, i noted your problem, i thinks if you use kerosene or toluene by flushing it on the running lapping plate, then it can wash out the material & then u can inspect the finished rings. siddik
