    0-3" Thick Grout Needed

Contractor poured an exterior slab too low resulting in the exterior metal stairs hanging about 3" above t/slab. I need to provide a 'ramp' up to the bottom of the stairs for accessibility and anchorage. The material needs to go from feathered edge to approximately 3" over an area around 12...

    ASCE 7-05 Open Buildings - Case A vs. B?

This is probably a dumb question, but what is the difference between Case A and Case B for Open Building MWFRS calculations. 7-05 Figure 6-18 indicates the load cases but I cannot find an explanation. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Nick

    A36 steel corrosion rates

Does anyone know where I can find corrosion rates for A36 steel in a severe marine environment? I have crevice corrosion between a clevis and gusset plate less than 1/4 mile from the ocean. Thanks, Nick

    Specialized Concrete Inspection Company?

Does anybody know of an experienced company and/or person who specializes in existing concrete structural inspections? Close to Florida is preferred but not necessary. Hopefully this is the appropriate place to post this request. Thanks, Nick

    UBC 1979 -- online?

I didn't figure they were. I'm trying to compare 105 mph wind loads from the '79 UBC to ASCE 7-05 130 mph loads.

    Arched Roof Wind Loads (ASCE)

ASCE 7-05 Figure 6-8 gives arched roof coefficients, but my building actually has half an arch with the windward wall being 20' tall and the leeward wall around 40' (or reverse). My question is whether it is valid to run calcs using Figure 6-8 and only use the roof loads given for the first...

    Slab thickness testing

Thanks for the info. I have contacted a company about the GPR, but it is not precise enough for the exact dimensions I need. They use the GPR more for soil densities than concrete thickness. I'll have to see if there are any ultrasonic testing companies here in Florida.

    Slab thickness testing

Does anyone know of a way to have slab thickness verified without coring through the slab? If so, are there any companies in particular who might specialize in this operation? Thanks, Nick
