Force calculation for faults on switchgear bus

Is there a standard or typical formula to use to calculate forces on switchgear bus based on available fault current.

BIL rating for series group of Capacitors

Can the BIL of individual capacitors be added together in a series group to give a larger overall BIL rating for the entire group to enable lower voltage capacitors to be used?

NEC Article 310.6 and application with primary transfomer cabeling

Does this refer to section 310.1 when it states that these requirements of section 310 do not apply to conductors that form and integral part of equipment?

NEC Article 310.6 and application with primary transfomer cabeling

I cannot find any reference in the NEC that excludes the connection between a close coupled disconnect switch and a transfomer with primary voltage larger than 2000V. I cannot recall seeing any field installations that have shielded cable connections between the disconnect and the transformer...

Training courses for SKM Power Tools Transient Stability (I*Sim)

Does anyone know if there are any courses available for the SKM transient stability module? If not could anyone sugggest some other courses that could assist with theory of transient stability analysis and computer modeling?

DC motors and AC short circuit analysis

When doing an AC short circuit study, do DC motors contribute to fault currents and therefore need to be included when building a system?

    Motor Starting Study

Sorry, I should have shown the data for the motor and the voltage to be used at. 2500HP motor, 13.2KV. How do I go about getting an ohmic value reactor size to be used for reduced voltage start?

    Motor Starting Study

I am doing a motor starting study and with Full Voltage start I am getting around a 12% drop at the bus. I want to do a reduced voltage start with series reactance, could someone give me some assistance on how to go about sizing the reactor to reduce the voltage drop. Thanks
