Install VFD on positive displacement blower??

Thanks David. Thus, in short, the PD blower requires a VFD and some kind of inlet or outlet valve to mainten the required discharge pressure. A VFD itself by slowing down the speed of the blower motor would not satisfy the discharge pressure requirement. Am I correct?

Install VFD on positive displacement blower??

When VFD reduces the speed of the blower, isn't the DP will also reduced? Since the process requires constant discharge pressure, I was thinking VFD alone cannot meet the goal. The plant has total of 4 blowers, 2 aerators. Each blower has an independent run/cycle timer. They typically run one...

Install VFD on positive displacement blower??

My client is using 4 positive displacement blowers with timer control in his wastewater treatment plant to provide oxygen to the process. Recently, he proposed to install VFD on these blowers to control the amount of air flow and reduce energy consumption. Since the blowers are supplying...

Pump Flow VS Pump Motor Amp

I am wondering if there are any relationships to descript pump motor Amp and actual pump flow. That is by measuring the pump motor Amp to eatimate the actual pump flow. Thanks!!

    Night setback calculation

Hi there, I'm asked to work on a spreadsheet to calculate the savings on AC night setback during summer. What would be the best method I should use instead of "1% savings per 1F setback". Thanks in advance.

Relationship between Duct Static Pressure and AHU supply fan speed

Hi, I would like to determine the new AHU supply fan speed by assuming the duct static pressure drop from 1.5" to 0.75". What equation I should use for a rough estimation? Thanks.

Relationship with ballast and fluorescent light

I'm not on the site that's why I couldn't do the experiment. Thanks

Relationship with ballast and fluorescent light

Thanks guys. But aren't they running in parallel so that other lamps could keep on even though one lamp has been take out? I'm confuse, please help.

Relationship with ballast and fluorescent light

Currently, I’ve 100 4-lamps T8 fixture in our facility and given out very high footcandle. So I want to reduce the number of T8 lamp per fixture from 4-lamp to 3-lamp. In general, do I need to shop for new ballast if I do that? Thanks!!

    p.f and amp relationship

Hi there, I'm evaluating the power consumption of a compressor. What I have on hand is only the logged Amp data from the machine. Are there any way that I can find out its p.f from the amp data so that I can get its power consumption? Thank you very much.

    VFD on 600HP centrifugal Compressor

Do any one would know how much usually cost for a VFD which suitable for 600HP compressor?

    VFD on 600HP centrifugal Compressor

Hi all, Is that possible to apply VFD on 600HP centrifugal air comrpessor? It is 460V and using inlet and bypass valves as the control. Also, what would be the other methods to control and saving energy? Thanks in advance.

Energy usage improvement in Rotational Molding Industries

Hi, I'd like to know if any of you have experience on improving electricity usage in rotational molding industries? It is because I couldn't see a lot of electricity consumption on the molding process, the only big consumption I could see is the rotational arm of the mold. Please let me know if...

Will VFD improvement or lower the power factor

Since the VFD provide the VAR to the motor, the ture pf should be improve, right?
