Thank you for the information. I am surprised to not see any recommendations for a gate valve. My thought was for a double offset BFV or a gate valve.
However, we are using a plug valve as there have been valves of this type in service that haven't had any problems.

Looking for ideas on a valve type. I have to install some valves on my city water intake. 6" steel lines. Its slightly filtered river water which can include debris, both small and medium size. I am thinking HP butterfly valve to get a good seal over knife gate. Any thoughts or experiences?

I am little confused. I have a client stating that they need to find a subsea valve that has a max temperture of 350F. Where would the valve see such high temps? Also, the depth is 3000 meters.

What is the inherent difference between a standard high pressure trunnion ball valve and one that is subsea design? This seems broad I know but basically could I use a 316SS trunnion 6000k ball valve for a subsea application?
I have had experience with the stellite surface. Is the application an abrasive media? You would want the ball to be of a harder material. This way the seat is some what softer to allow it to be the replaceable. This wasn't in a ball valve but similar possibly.
We are looking to purchase some valves which need to be fire safe. We are running into the difference between the safe designed valves and the tested. We are aware of the test criteria for API 607 and what it will mean to be tested. But, what is the criterion to call yourself a fire safe...
Does anyone have any experience with high temperature o'rings, or if there is such a thing? Looking at a ring that can withstand the API fire testing for a high pressure valve. Any suggestions?
