    Peak Cylinder Pressures

I have measured over 3000psi in a highly turbocharged 4 cylinder engine.

    Aftermarket Fuel Injection

While I agree OEM systems are more finely developed, aftermarket systems can be made to run extremely well and offer much better adaptabilty for the end user. This is particularly true in the case of an engine swap or when the engine is altered. In this case I would certainly use the MS rather...

Rockwell Hardness of cam bucket tappets

That is too soft. You'll want a minimum of 50, and closer to 55 is better.

what mat'l for oiled foam air filter?

Why do you wish to use oiled foam? I'd be much more inclined to use the paper element from a production car.

    Fuel warming for fuel economy

During the latter years fo the Formula 1 turbo era, when the rules introduced fuel quantity restrictions, Honda started to heat the fuel to achieve better BSFC. It was one of their main advantages.

    LeMans rules

Goodness, my apologies, I wanted to add this to the previous thread and did this instead.

    LeMans rules

The relevant regulations: Gasoline Displacement Limit 4000cc (turbocharged) Diesel Displacement Limit 5500cc Gasoline restrictor 2x 32.4mm (area of 1,648mm^2) Diesel restrictor 2x 39.9mm (area of 2,499mm^2) Gasoline boost pressure 7.3psig (4.0 liter engine) Diesel boost pressure 28psig (5.5...

heating fuel lines with 12 volts

My 1987 Ford F350 6.9 Liter Diesel had a 12V heater built into the fuel line leading into the filter. Perhaps that would work for you.

    Cylinder pressure curves analysis

TFX engine technologies offers a nice acquisition/analysis set-up and software.

    Flat Face Cam Follower Spin

Tmoose (Mechanical) 30 Mar 06 18:57 Somehow OHC engines with lobes running directly on tappet shims seem to work flawlessly. When I peek in the oil filler hole the lobes appear to bear on the tappet shim full width, but the shime removed to have a faint circular wear pattern. Maybe it helps...

Objectively measuring and defining subjective steering "feel"

Greg, Are you talking about the original 1984 VW Rabbit GTI? If so, I'm surprised to say the least- my subjecitve opinion (is there any other kind?) is that they had excellent steering feel. I wonder if they came spec'd with differnet tires where you are.

In depth Holley tuning help needed

There is an article in popular hotrodding http://popularhotrodding.com/tech/0511phr_carb/ Which talks about the problem of low carb signal and the various types of boosters availble to help. Might be worth a read

    Turbocharger Gasoline Fuel Consumption

Assuming the engine internals haven't been changed, then the only thing requiring more fuel would be the weight of the turbocharger system. As the others said, negligible

Life of wide-band O2 sensor with leaded fuel

As Fader said, the sensor to run is the NTK UEGO sensor, but the cheaper versions of these are still prone to failure with leaded fuel. The lab grade versions are better in this respect. If you can avoid starting the engine cold on leaded fuel, you can greatly extend the life of the sensor. My...

    Old Cam, New Lifters?

Should be just fine. A great many OHC heads that have broken timing belts have had the lifters (and valves!) replaced, but kept the camshafts.
