NSX Ignition noise on fm stations

First of all....I'd like to say thanks for the responses to this thread. I'll try to answer any questions in this one reply. I took the belt off of the alt. and ran the car. The noise was the same. As far as the compression ratio....the motor is a remanufactured motor from ?? The heads may...

NSX Ignition noise on fm stations

Hey all, I'm a technician at an Acura dealer here in Tn. I'm working on a 94 NSX. (OBD 1) For those that aren't farmiliar with the ignition system on this car, it has individual coils on each cylinder. I'm having trouble figuring out why I have an ignition tick that is directly related to...

    Titanium Brakes

The TI rotors don't have just TI hats. The entire rotor is titanium. Thus the weight savings. I think it knocked off around 30lbs of rotational mass on the NSX and about 45 lbs of unsprung weight. (rotational mass being the rotors, unsprung weight being the rotors and the aluminum calipers in...

    Titanium Brakes

If I'm not mistaken, the slots that acutally go all the way through the rotors are watter cut. This *should* keep the danger of machining TI down to a minimum risk would think. I'm trying to get in touch with the guy that actually makes the Ti rotors for the now defunct ZMI. I'll keep everyone...

    Titanium Brakes

Unfortuately, my customer has yet to sign up to a track event. He's more of a drag racer that wanted to loose some rotational mass. I don't think the unsprung weight was a big issue for him, just the roattional mass. I kinda makes me sick. In my humble opinion, NSX's weren't designed to drag...

    Torque curve placement

Ok, here is my 2 cents. Put the torque curve around 1,800, then let it pull through approx. 2,800. By then the hp will take over and pull you through. You want the torque down low to pull you off the line....stop light....up hills, and the hp will take over after you get moving. Or you can call...

    AUTOMOTIVE EXHAUST FLOW AND TEMPERATURE

What kind of car (or whatever your working on) are you asking about? It depends on how lean/rich the engine your working on.....if we're even talking about a car here. I think 900 degrees at the header sounds familiar. Of course it would be less at the rear of the car. Barney Demonbreun...

    curious about engine breaking

To enlighten some of you on the effects of engine braking, let me give you some of my thoughts on this. I have replaced the flywheel on my Integra with an 8.8 lb. flywheel. The factory flywheel is an 18 lb. boat anchor. The reason for this was to make the car more roadcoarse friendly and get...

    Titanium Brakes

A customer of mine has ZMI brakes on his 2002 NSX. He has the front and rear rotors/calipers. He loves the kit. It has given him the little edge needed to stay ahead of the other all motor NSX's. It's amazing how loosing the rotaional mass and unsprung weight can make such an impressive...
