I am biting the bullet and going out for some outside training.
I am a Manufacturing Engineer and I check Mech. Engineers designs and drawings and I find tolerance/interference problems which I know Solidworks raises a flag when problems do come up. This leads me to believe that even some of...
You might want to search thru the Thomas Register or search the internet for "Dust Collectors". I make hair removal lasers and a lot of doctors buy a small vacuum device that picks up burnt hair that sounds like what you would want.
Good luck

I think all of our project managers use Etch-A-Sketch. They present the project schedule at a meeting and shake it over their head on the way out of the meeting. We suffer from "PROJECTUS LATEOCIOUS" here and a lack of training.
Funny story: I went to a project "KICK OFF"...
Hi!!
I've been using Acad for 10 years now R12 to R14 all 2D design and drafting. I have the opportunity for a position at a company that does everything in 3D Mechanical Desktop.
I've seen Desktop and it's a nice product.
I would like some opinions on what the average learning curve is from...

Hi Scott,
It looks like you've got some great advice on starting your Engineering Dept. Sometimes the best way to start is to visit a friends company or call a local company and simply ask them if you could come in and talk to them about their engineering dept. I did it that way many years ago...

Hi Grant,
I have found that you can put all of the weld symbols that you want on a drawing but the only way to really listen and learn by talking to the welder or the shop(s)doing the work.

They will like that more then sending a drawing with a bunch of symbols on it. It...
Machinist Handbook has simple inertia calcs but I typically use a engineering handbook from a bearing manufacturer such as MRC.
But I bet you could find some software to help you.
Good Luck its not an easy one.
