Often times, some shops will use carbon steel brushes on stainless welds. You may want to start there as well.... The APIGUY....

Yes! There is. Depending on the material of construction, liquid dye penetrant (PT)or magnetic particle (MT)examination would be better suited for those discontinuities, cheaper and faster. As long as the surface is not too porous, PT would be my first choice. The APIGUY....
