Create a sub-assembly of the parts. Then in your "BOM" just "disolve" the sub-assembly. The advantage of this method is that the sub assembly you created is left intact but the items are shown independantly in the BOM.

As Artem said previously, just create 2-bom tables. No need to hide either table. For the exported table just drag it off of the drawing sheet and it will not print.

I have also tried to do exactly what he is saying (copy part/assembly properties to the drawing custom properties. The reason I wanted this was so that the properties were visible by using windows explorer.
However I believe the only way to do this is by using a macro feature so that when the...
Stoker, that is exactly what I am thinking of doing.
We do not have a dedicated PDM so I was thinking of linking the model properties to the drawing's properties, so that they are visible using windows explorer. Also I was thinking of using the data to auto populate the design journal.doc in the...
Maybe I am not explaining myself properly.
I already know how to display the models customs properties in a drawing (as shown be the previous answers).
What I would like to do is copy or push that data from the model into a custom property setup in the drawing sheet template.
From what I can see...
How can I link the custom props of parts/assemblies to the custom props of a drawing.
eg part property 'PartNum' link to drawing property 'PartNum'
I know how to display the part/assembly props in a drawing, but I cant see how to then link that data into a drawing property.
When dragging in self clinching studs from the design library the studs keep flipping back after pressing TAB to orient them. Has anyone else seen this?
