Hi all For lumped plasticity model of a column or a beam the plastic hinge stiffness is 6EI/L (assuming double curvature). My question is how to derive this equation? and what is the stiffness for a singe curvature (cantilever)? Thanks

Hi all In fema 273 and ASCE 41, the modelling parameters and acceptance criteria of concrete flexure members are given as rotations. I do not know what is meant by rotation. is it the rotation of the plastic hinge or the chord rotation of members (Drift/L).

Actually I will be modelling concrete, and I know models for concrete are available in ANSYS. but I will be using different stress strain relations for the sake of research.

It is clear that torsion is different from negative moment , what I meant is that the negative moment in the secondary beam caused by the torsion in the main beams , any way thank you all for your help.
