Does anyone know of a CAD Reseller in the northeast USA that handles SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CREO (Pro-E) and Unigraphics or at least more then just one of these thru the same reseller?
Thank you,
Adam

As mentioned before, it has a lot to do with your product and how you intend to use the software. I tried a demo of SolidEdge. Hated it. I have used Inventor and Alibre. I currently use SolidWorks and NX. For basic 3D capabilities, you cannot beat the price of Alibre. If you want more...
If you are running XP, some software will see that you have X GB RAM, but XP can only recognize 3GB. I have this problem and we are working to get higher ups to buy better machines.
I presume it is coming in as a collection of parts, and this is what I do, but the parts are usually solids.
If you start a new part in the assembly, exit the sketch it starts into, and join components you need. Then open the file from the browser, save to a more appropriate name and break the...
I suggest using JMarv's method for importing. I do alot of imports thru dwg format for graphics and board layouts. I think it will also read existing dimensions so you do not have to add new ones.
Finisher,
Try adding the draft as part of the boss as opposed to a second feature. I sometimes have the same problem and have noticed it may have to do with when the feature was selected. Also try adding the draft in a second pattern. I have used this on fillets, when I experience the same...
Jeff is right, create a couple of configurations. I would make one for the original part if it is cast or forged, one for lathe and one for mill. Additionally, you could add colors for specific aspects of the process if you show a colored rendering, i.e. green for c'sunk holes, cyan for c'bore...
Anthony,
BWEs were an interesting topic on a model railroad site not long ago. During my searches, I did not find any dimensional data but I did find a manufacturer. You may need to contact the OEM or their descendant. Do you know who made the original machine?

Score33,
I think I had trouble back on NX5 trying to open IGES files with the Open command. Have you tried starting a new file and importing an IGES?
Work does not want to switch to NX7 yet, because of the TeamCenter we are running, but I will try to help.

Oseania,
There are two things I would recommend. First, insert molding as previously mentioned, but the wire should have a cross section that changes in the middle, to enhance your holding power.
Second, check out an adhesive. The boys at Lord are typically the first place I go.

I have seen black oxide rust in wet applications.
If you are going to an outside vendor to have your parts made, ask them what process they recommend. While one method may be cheaper, your vendor may prefer another and the first method would cost more for a third party to do.
Thanks Ron. After reading Swerider's last post, I have to agree with the other guys on a ball screw. The pin thru matching holes may not give sufficient range.
Swerider, I am concerned about you having to run power to a motor, as I do not know the whole design. Another possibility is to...
