    Watts Z-Link on GM Cruze

...I'm assuming by "IP" you meant Intellectual Property, correct? ...oh, by the way, we own a 2011 Cruze, but the Z-link (from what I've read) seems out of place, being more commonly used on racing and slalom & gymkhana racing cars.

Wilson Greatbatch, Implantable Pacemaker Developer, 1919-2011

...although I'd never heard of his name, I'm grateful to him because I'm now wearing pacemaker #3 and getting ready (battery voltage decline) for #4. ...the pink Eveready™ "Bunny" and I have something in common, battery power(ed)!

    Watts Z-Link on GM Cruze

...this is more of an informational question, but what 'real' beneft(s) is there to the Watts Z-Link rear suspension that GM has installed in their North American Cruze cars? ...it's an economy car, so "high-performance" road handling seems rather dubious. ...any "real-world" users have comments?

    Aspen/Excelsior info?

...seeking "old" historical test information about aspen/excelsior pads as used with evaporative coolers. ...seeking data such as saturation efficiency versus: (a) pad thickness, (b) pad density; (c) pad area; (d) air flow rate; and (e) water flow rate. ...vaguely recall some tests being done...

    ACIDITY OF AUTOMOTIVE FLUIDS

...carbon dioxide (tasteless gas) mixing with water (moist air) creates carbonic acid which does have an slightly acidic taste.

    Human excitation frequencies

...check the military/NASA medical tests. ...I recall seeing a whole booklet on such stuff, with data and graphs showing both Hz and G-level limits for sitting, prone, and inclined positions. ...I even think there was something about body "resonant" frequencies, too.

    Toyota Recall

+1, another "personal opinion" for 'unintended' software programming results/escapes, probably caused by less-than-100% testing of EVERY possible conditional condition(s).

    IC-engine specific intake/exhaust gas constants?

Thanks! I appreciate both the information and the explanation.

    IC-engine specific intake/exhaust gas constants?

...I'm aware the specific gas constant for 'pure' air without water vapor is 287.0 J/(kg*K), but what is it for todays' typical (a) intake air+fuel mixture at max HP and max FE; and (b) exhaust gas with typical EGR? Are they the same, similar or vastly different values (only need integer...

    Should Undergraduates Be Taught Fortran?

FORTRAN is to programming languages as LATIN is to ENGLISH...a predecessor with much "historical" insight and foundation to pass along to the new student. ...so, learn it, No. Study about it, Yes.

    Slide rules live!

...my question to calculator users: "What are you gonna do when there aren't anymore batteries for your calculators?" ...my answer: "...go back to using our sliderulers!"

    Should Undergraduates Be Taught Fortran?

...if you are referring to MILITARY students (Annapolis, West Point, etc.) it might have to be ADA instead of FORTRAN.

    Stepped Header Design

..."stepped' headers are surrogates for "constantly-reducing diameter" pipes (almost impossible to manufacture) whose purpose is to maintain constant gas mass VELOCITY down the pipes as the gas temperature (and thus density) reduces with distance and time. ...as I recall, the idea gas mass...
